Fusing the first layers of encaustic medium (Beeswax + damar resin) onto a wood cradle board. White powder pigment was added to the medium in a previous step.

Melting damar resin prior to adding beeswax and creating the medium.

Adding multiple layers of molten wax medium to slowly create a build up of many layers and textures-This is called accretion.

Placing paper over the design created with wax sticks on the “Roland Hot Box”. The paper melts into the wax on the aluminum plate and the wax becomes embedded into the paper.
